Safety is the main focus at Grevillea Creek Farm. Whether it be the safety of our equine friends or our boarders, we strive to create the safest environment possible. All disciplines are welcome, but all mounted riders will wear appropriate safety head gear when riding on the property. Instructors are welcome on the farm for lessons. Natural horsemanship techniques are used when interacting with the horses.
Limited boarding is available at Grevillea Creek Farm. Boarded horses are treated as if they were “part of the family.” Horses are checked at least twice daily as they are brought in for feeding. Minor bumps and scraps are dealt with at that time. Owners are notified immediately if there are any injuries or illnesses requiring veterinary attention, or if shoes have been lost. Owners are expected to keep their horses up-to-date on all vaccinations and routine maintenance procedures.
De-worming protocols are individually determined by periodic fecal sampling in accordance with the most recent veterinary recommendations. Piedmont Equine Associates out of Madison, GA services our Farm for veterinary needs. One of their highly qualified veterinarians visits the farm twice yearly for routine procedures and for emergency calls, when needed. The farm farrier visits every 6 weeks for trimming and shoeing.
Grevillea Creek Farm offers a partial boarding arrangement. Every horse has their own stall in which they are fed premium feed twice daily and owner supplied supplements, if desired. High quality Alicia Bermuda hay grown on the farm is fed in the winter months. Horses are turned out after feeding unless weather conditions are particularly bad. We strive to create a balance between spoiling our equine friends and letting them be horses with the physical and mental health benefits associated with turn out and herd living conditions.
